Everest Base Camp- 16 days Itinerary

  • Day 01 Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport(1360m/4462ft)

    After your arrival at the Kathmandu International Airport, you will meet with one of the team representatives from Snowland Adventure at the airport holding your nameplate and waiting for you at the terminal exit gate. He will welcome you on behalf of us at the airport and take you to your hotel. In the evening, you will meet with your guide, and he will brief you about tomorrow's program. You will end your day with a welcome dinner organized by the company.

  • Day 02 Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

    After having breakfast, we begin our guided tour to the famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. We will visit Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath, and end our day visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square where we will see precise art & architecture of the medieval period and get closer with the history of Nepal.

  • Day 03 Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2618m/8590ft)-4 hours

    We take an early flight of our life to Lukla airport. The flight will be scenic and offers us bird-eye views of the Himalayan mountains. Upon reaching Lukla(2840m/9318ft), we begin our trek towards Phakding village. The surrounding becomes more prominent with the mountain landscape. The first part of the trail will lead us to Cheplung village from where we will see a beautiful view of Mt. Khumbila (5,761m). Further, we will descend all the way down to the north of Lukla in the Dudh Koshi River Valley where Phakding village is situated.

  • Day 04 Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11286ft)-6/7 hours

    Leaving Phakding behind, we head towards Namche Bazar crossing several villages like Jorsale and Monjo, which is the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. From here, the trail goes through the national park that includes numerous small rivers, untamed streams, alpine woods, and dense forests. After crossing Jorselle village you will rich Imja Tsr river and the gorge which have a famous twin suspension bridge full of prayer flags. We will be climbing up for about an hour then reach Namche Bazar from where superb views of Mt. Thamserku (6,623 m) and Kongdi Ri Himal (5,115 m) can be seen.

  • Day 05 Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar (3440m/11286ft)- 4/5 hours

    Today is the first acclimatization day of our trek. We will spend our day exploring around the village and hiking to nearby areas for spectacular views. We can hike to Syangboche Airstrip or Everest View for a stunning view of Mt. Everest (8,848 m) and surrounding. The Everest view hotel is a 2004 Guinness world record for the world's highest-altitude hotel. Enjoy the first sight of Mt. Everest and the iconic Ama Dablam Mountain view. We then return back to Namche and visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery.

  • Day 06 Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m/12664ft)- 5 hours

    After having our breakfast served by warm-hearted locals, we trek towards Tengboche, which is famous for the Tengboche monastery. Tengboche monastery is the oldest and largest monastery of the Khumbu region. The trail opens out to Dudh Koshi River Valley at Phungki Thanka village. From here, we trek along the Dudh Koshi River on a forested trail and reach Tengboche village located at the confluence of the Dudh Koshi River and Imja Khola River. We will visit the Tengboche monastery where we will get to see several antiques, sculptures, ancient manuscripts, and paintings. From the monastery, fantastic views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), and many other mountains can be seen.

  • Day 07 Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4220m/14501ft)-5 hours

    Crossing the Imja river on a well-made suspension bridge, we continue our trek towards Dingboche village. We pass by Pangboche village and ascend through a forested trail before reaching Dingboche village. Dingboche is also known as, Summer Valley of the Khumbu, and offers fine views of Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), and Island Peak (6,189 m).

  • Day 08 Rest day at Dingboche (4420m/14501ft)-3/4 hours

    Here comes our second rest day at Dingboche to make our body acclimatized with the increased altitude. After having breakfast, we can hike to Nagarjun located at 5,100 meters. The hike will be a little difficult due to the uphill steep ascend. From the top, we will get to see superb views of Taboche Peak (6,542 m), Lobuche East (6,119 m), Lobuche West (6,135 m), Kangtega (6,782 m), Ama Dablam (6,812 m), and Thamserku (6,623 m). We will return back to Dingboche after soaking fresh air and lovely mountain views on top.

  • Day 09 Trek to Lobuche (4910m/16108ft)-5 hours

    After a quick breakfast, we continue our trekking towards Thukla. On the way, we come across the Trekkers Aid Post located at Pheriche, which is operated with the help of Western Volunteer Doctors and assisted by The Himalayan Rescue Association. Further, the trail will take us to Chupki Lhara, and then, we descend to the Khumbu Glacier moraine. Trekking along with beautiful views of the snow-capped mountains, we reach Lobuche.

  • Day 10 Trek to Everest Base Camp(5364m/17598ft) and return to Gorak Shep(5140m/16864ft)-7/8 hours

    Today, the trail will finally take us to Everest Base Camp(5364m/17598ft). After having a warm breakfast, we begin trekking gradually along with the view of Khumbu Glacier on our right side. We reach Gorakshep, which used to be the base camp of Everest back in the days. Further, we ascend all the way up on a relatively rugged and snowy trail to reach Everest Base Camp. Upon reaching the base camp, we will get to witness the irresistible beauty of the region. Later, we will trek back to Gorak Shep for the night stay.

  • Day 11 Trek to Pheriche (4240m/13910ft)via Kala Patthar (5545m/18192ft)-7/8 hours

    Today, we will wake up early in the morning and hike up to the Kala Patthar(5545m/18192ft), which is a popular viewpoint. Upon reaching Kala Patthar, we get to see one of the best sunrises of our life along with outstanding views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m), and several other mountains. Moreover, this viewpoint also presents the 360-degree panoramic views of Mt. Everest. After spending some time at Kala Patthar, we head back to Gorak Shep and continue descending towards Pheriche.

  • Day 12 Trek to Namche (3440m/11286ft)-6 hours

    After having breakfast with the views of the Himalayan mountains, we trek back following the Imja River all the way down to Tengboche. From here, we continue descending down to Phungki Thanka. Before reaching Namche Bazar, we pass by Kyangjuma. The trail will go through beautiful forests of pine & rhododendrons and present gorgeous landscape. Today is also our last chance to observe the lifestyle and culture of people residing in this extreme region of the world.

  • Day 13 Trek to Lukla (2840m/9318ft)-7hours

    We trek back to Lukla today. Descending steeply, we cross a suspension bridge. The trail will be full of colorful prayer flags, chortens, mani walls, and small gompas. On the way, we will go through dense forests of rhododendron & pine and small villages along with enchanting views of snow-capped mountains and marvelous scenery. of course, nothing will motivate you more than a nice shower, foods, and warm beds. Upon reaching Lukla, we get settled in our guesthouse and celebrate the completion of our trip.

  • Day 14 Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu (1340/4420ft)-35 minutes

    After having a light breakfast, we fly back to Kathmandu. During the flight, we get to see the last views of the Himalayan mountains. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will head to our hotel and freshen up. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and stroll on the vibrant streets of Thamel. "Well done" you have successfully finished the Everest Base camp trek. "Great Job"!

  • Day 15 Free day in Kathmandu (1360m/4462ft)

    Today is your free day in Kathmandu. You can explore around and visit the landmarks you haven’t been yet or just resting for the day while enjoying delicious cuisine. You will also prepare to leave tomorrow. Later in the evening, we visit a restaurant to have a farewell dinner organized by Snowland Treks.

  • Day 16 Flight back home
